When it comes to clocks, I must say that my mother is quite a collector of these things. Early on she has taught me the value and importance of time. She wants me to understand that time is gold and that I would need to value the same if I were to succeed in life. This is the reason why this lesson of hers had been laid in my head even up to this point.

I remember that my mother always wanted to have one of those river city cuckoo clocks, but since she was raising me all by herself she did not have enough funds to do so. This is why I got one delivered on her doorstep when I got my first paycheck. This is the least I can do for my mother who never gave up and managed to raise me well in order for me to achieve my dreams.

I recently decided to do some redecorating in my home now that all the kids are out of the house. My youngest had just moved out for college and I no longer have to worry about anything or anyone except for me and my husband. Staying at home gave me the leisure time to do just about anything I would want. This way, I would be able to spruce up the entire space.

I started on redecorating the living room area as this is the place where I would often spend most of my time in. I got some handcrafted cuckoo clocks which looked absolutely perfect against the blank wall in the space. I have a knack for intricate and old world items, so this is the perfect fit for my style and preference. Hopefully I can have the new furniture delivered so I can finish my first project at home.

I am truly lucky to have wonderful friends with me. I am far away from my family because of a work assignment, and I don’t miss them as much because I have wonderful people time to spend with. During those instances when I am not able to come home for the holidays, I would usually plan out parties with my friends instead. This Christmas was one of them, and this was not an exception for having a Christmas dinner with them.

This year I was really happy with all the gifts I received. I got one of those cuckoo clocks I have always wanted for my place. This reminds me of my home as my mother has quite the penchant for these things. We collect a couple inside our home and they always seem to entertain us with their beautiful designs and unique sounds. In a way, having one in my apartment helps me to feel like I am just at home.

I am currently redecorating my living room after a year of stagnancy. I have been very busy with work that buying furniture and decorating was the least of my priorities when I moved inside this flat. It’s kind of big and the space can really make you feel that you are living alone especially when you come home tired from work. That’s why now, I am really trying hard to change the interior of my house. I want to make it feel more homier.

First, I bought end tables because the corners of my house are all bare. I also bought a rug that compliments the colors of my walls. Then I saw one of those 8 day carved cuckoo clocks online and instantly fell in love. Most people put them on their kitchen but I think that it’s perfect for my living room. I ordered one right away and now I am just waiting for it to be shipped.

A good friend of mine is a collector of quality and unique timepieces. She has been collecting these items for many years now, growing fond of them as her father is also passionate on the same things. This is why most of her friends, including me, would often give her timepieces which she could add to her collection. Not only are they affordable, they are also easy to purchase to get her to smile.

For this Christmas, I got her a black forest cuckoo clock which I got on sale online. She often tells us that she can never get enough of black forest cuckoo clocks, as these are just intricately made. I am sure this will surely be a great addition to her collection. A cuckoo clock is a type of clock, typically pendulum-regulated, that strikes the hours with a sound that is like a common cuckoo’s call. Most cuckoo clocks feature a mechanical cuckoo bird that emerges with each note. The first cuckoo clocks were created by Franz Ketterer in 1738 when he attempted to impersonate the distinctive two-tone call of the local cuckoo bird using bellows, instead of bells or chimes. He mounted the innards on a miniature, ornate wooden house and began a long tradition of crafting cuckoo clocks in the region.

The most notable feature of cuckoo clocks are the pleasant birds with their accompanying call.
